A Local's Guide to Finding the Right Community, Understanding the Area, and Making Your Move with Confidence.

Moving to a new community is exciting. It's also one of life's biggest decisions.

Whether you're relocating for work, retirement, a lifestyle change, or simply looking for a place where you can enjoy Florida's sunshine year-round, choosing the right community is about so much more than finding the perfect house.

It's about finding a place where you'll feel at home.

As a Realtor and local resident, I've had the privilege of helping families, professionals, retirees, and second-home buyers discover everything Volusia County has to offer. Along the way, I've learned that the people who enjoy their move the most are those who take the time to truly understand the communities before making a decision.

That's exactly why I created Discover Volusia County.

My goal is simple, to provide honest, helpful information that allows you to explore our area with confidence, whether you're planning to move next month or simply beginning your research.

Why Are So Many People Moving to Volusia County?

Nestled along Florida's beautiful Atlantic Coast, Volusia County offers something for just about everyone.

Here you'll discover:

  • Miles of beautiful beaches

  • Historic downtown districts full of local charm

  • Waterfront living along both the Atlantic Ocean and the Halifax and St. Johns Rivers

  • Championship golf courses

  • State parks and nature preserves

  • Boating, fishing, paddleboarding, and endless outdoor recreation

  • Excellent healthcare options

  • Colleges and universities, including Stetson University and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University

  • A growing economy with expanding business opportunities

  • Convenient access to Orlando, world-famous attractions, and several international airports

While many people first discover Volusia County because of Daytona Beach, they quickly realize our county is made up of a collection of unique communities—each with its own personality, pace, and lifestyle.

Every Community Has Its Own Story

One of the questions I'm asked most often is:

"Which community should I move to?"

The answer depends entirely on your lifestyle and priorities.

Ormond Beach

Known for its beautiful beaches, oak-canopied streets, and quiet coastal atmosphere, Ormond Beach offers a wonderful balance of luxury waterfront living, established neighborhoods, golf communities, and natural beauty.

Daytona Beach

Home to the world-famous Daytona International Speedway and one of Florida's most recognized beaches, Daytona Beach continues to evolve with exciting redevelopment, riverfront improvements, higher education, and growing entertainment options.

Daytona Beach Shores

If waking up to panoramic ocean views is your dream, Daytona Beach Shores offers miles of beachfront condominiums, relaxed coastal living, and easy access to restaurants, parks, and recreation.

Port Orange

Often recognized as one of the area's most family-friendly communities, Port Orange offers excellent schools, beautiful parks, newer neighborhoods, and convenient shopping while remaining just minutes from the beach.

Ponce Inlet

Quiet, scenic, and surrounded by water, Ponce Inlet is known for its historic lighthouse, boating lifestyle, waterfront dining, and some of the most beautiful stretches of beach in Florida.

New Smyrna Beach

Frequently ranked among America's best beach towns, New Smyrna Beach combines a thriving arts scene, boutique shopping, outstanding restaurants, surfing culture, and an incredible sense of community.

DeLand

Consistently recognized as one of America's best small downtowns, DeLand blends historic architecture, cultural events, excellent restaurants, and the charm of Stetson University into one vibrant community.

DeBary & Orange City

Located along the St. Johns River, these growing communities provide excellent value, newer neighborhoods, outdoor recreation, and convenient access to Orlando.

Edgewater

For those seeking a more relaxed waterfront lifestyle with access to boating, fishing, and the Indian River Lagoon, Edgewater continues to attract buyers looking for affordability and natural beauty.
